"True, the lands of Valcia are vast indeed, but so too are the people and cultures that inhabit it. Though there is much intrigue to be found, most assuredly danger will not be far behind; far more than our King would have you think. I urge you to be careful, young friend."
Dreth Kaldun
The Dreth Kaldun is a secret organization of highly skilled and trained mercenary assassins who will do anything for the right price. Based out of Port Maverick, the Dreth Kaldun are a feared sort who hold no loyalty to any man or authority other than the Dreth Kaldun itself and the guild's leader who is bears the title of Maethon. Holding no honor, the reigning Maethon brazenly leads this secretive guild in any assignment they have been hired to accomplish.
However, the Dreth Kaldun has not always walked down this dark of a path. Hundreds of years ago in a long forgotten war, many men and women had everything stripped from them, including their homes, families and livelihoods. With nothing left to lose and holding no trust in their kingdom's armies, these last remaining refugees forged the Dreth Kaldun to fight for the memory of their lost loved ones. Without a fear of dying and with no use for honor, the Dreth Kaldun led many rogue missions that drastically changed the face of warfare in that age.
When the war had finally ended and the Dreth Kaldun had lost its only purpose, many members left their ranks to attempt to start their lives anew. However, there were others who had nowhere to return to. Knowing only of the pain of their great personal losses and the discipline for bloodshed that caused them to become such a feared entity, the Dreth Kaldun became a mercenary guild, hiring out its members for assassinations and other unmentionable tasks.
The members of the Dreth Kaldun proved to be so good at what they did that they soon earned a name for themselves all across Valcia, and to this day are still a feared community.
Konin Ari
A wandering tribe of 'magic' users who claim to be the descendants of an ancient, elite guard of the now-lost city of Canta Mien. Though these claims may be questionable, the skill and discipline the Konin Ari have in the use and teaching of magic is undeniable.
The Konin Ari first appeared shortly after the end of the Great Calm. The quickness of their appearance and their level of skill with magic has added to the credibility of their claim, although no concrete proof to the actual existence of Canta Mien has ever been found. Since they arrived, the Konin Ari have been traveling from kingdom to kingdom giving lessons in the art of 'magic' to royalty and high-end nobility.
Always on the move, the Konin Ari have a somewhat mysterious air about them. No one has ever been able to find or contact a member of the Konin Ari by their own merit; the Konin Ari have always made first contact with those whom they desire to meet with, and even then these meetings are sworn to secrecy.
Lords of Veir
The Lords of Veir serve as the elite royal guard of Erenon. Comprised of soldiers who have proved themselves within Veir's army, the Lords of Veir are dedicated to the service and protection of the King and royal family at any cost. Hand picked by King Zoapin Siriny II and General Rhyldus, the Lords of Veir are, by definition, the best of the best.
Escorting the King at every moment, the Lords of Veir can be recognized by their heavy, plated armor and traditional blue and yellow shields and cloaks, which bear Veir's royal seal. Ornate helmets cover their faces, which, aside from obvious defensive reasons, symbolize the sacrifice of their individuality for the service of the King.
There is no greater achievement for any soldier of Veir than to achieve the rank of Lord. When granted this coveted title, the soldier and his entire family are moved within the Erenon castle grounds where he can be near the Royal family at all times. A special ceremony is also held in honor of the soldier where he is given then a Braes Blade, the official sword of the Lords of Veir.
For security reasons, much of the information pertaining to the Lords of Veir are kept secret and not made known to the general public, such as their numbers, training exercises and assignments.
